Dr Amit Javed, the Gastrointestinal, Gastrointestinal Cancer, and Bariatric/Weight Loss surgeon has been practicing for more than 25 years. He has an MBBS degree from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, an MS in General Surgery, a senior residency from the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, and an M.Ch. Gastrointestinal Surgery from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. Dr. Javed has ECFMG certification and received the FACS degree from the American College of Surgeons in the USA; San Francisco, CA. He is the Former Faculty of G.I. Surgery at G.B. Pant Institute Of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research New Delhi wherein he trained many G.I. Surgeons of the Country. His professional experience in several medical institutions includes being the Assistant Professor at the Department of Abdominal Transplantation, University of California, San Francisco, USA specializing in liver, pancreas, and kidney transplantation, threshold division of the Thoracic surgery at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, USA. He is a keen researcher who published over 50 articles including international and national journals and textbooks on new surgical approaches. He is frequently invited as a faculty at local and international meetings and efficiently operates and performs more than 1,000 cases per year including ‘difficult, complex, and, emergent gastrointestinal/hepatobiliary cases and cancers, and bariatric/weight loss surgeries with a core expertise in minimally invasive/Laparoscopic surgery’. Of course, he has numerous accomplishments, but currently, he is rather unassuming, reserved, and hardworking, and aims to approach every patient individually.
