Dr. Ganesh K Mani, a pioneer in Cardiac Surgery in India, Chairman of Cardio Thoracic & Vascular Surgery and recipient of the Padma Shri is well known. With a career spanning the likes of Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals,  has personally performed over 20,000 Cardiac Surgeries with nearly zero mortality in elective heart surgeries. In Delhi, he brought 'Beating Heart Coronary Artery Bypass' in 2000 and has performed more than 8,000 Off-pump CABGs. He has been Chief Cardiac Surgeon at Railway Hospital Perambur, TN, Batra Hospital, Apollo Hospitals, and Delhi Heart & Lung Institute. In 1992 he was recognized with 'National Citizens Award' by the Vice President of India and in 1996 Former Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar gave him the prestigious 'National Excellence Award', besides being awarded 'Padma Shri Award' by President Pranab Mukherji in 2013. He has experience apart from Coronary Artery Surgery with valve surgeries and congenital heart surgeries. Through the Max India Foundation and the Health Education and Research Trust, Dr Mani is invested in performing free heart surgeries for underprivileged children as part of the Rotary Foundation's 'Gift of Life' scheme.
