Overview

Dr. Khushwant Popli is a renowned cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon in the country who has served for more than a decade in some of the busiest healthcare facilities in India. He specializes in the medical management and surgical intervention of a diverse spectrum of heart disorders and has successfully conducted many challenging surgeries/operations such as heart transplantation, CABG, valve replacements (MVR, DVR), Bentall operations, and other valvular heart surgeries, along with congenital heart ailment operations including ASO, Fontan operation, TOF repair, and TAPVC repair. He has also had VATS, decortication, lobectomy, pneumonectomy, and trauma cases of thoracic surgery as well. While pursuing an MCh degree in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at the AIIMS New Delhi, Dr.Popli cleared one of the most challenging examinations in India UPSC and joined the Central Health Services (CHS) at VMMC & Safdarjang Hospital New Delhi. There he was involved with the first heart transplant and the first robotic-assisted cardiothoracic surgery at the center. Besides, he has been an active clinician, nerve specialist, and associate professor at Safdarjung Hospital and has a rich contribution to the field of publication. He has also delivered lectures on Norwood procedures results at the IACTS 2015 national conference in Hyderabad and has been involved in major interventions among which are the first heart transplant and robotic cardiac surgery program at an Indian public sector hospital.
