Dr. Ramji Mehrotra is a prominent figure in Cardio Thoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) with over 26 years of experience. He is renowned for his expertise in Beating Heart Surgery, Total Arterial CABG, and numerous successful procedures. His previous roles include Director (CTVS) at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, Sr. Consultant (CTVS) at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, and Consultant Cardiac Surgeon at Asian Heart Institute, Mumbai. He has also been a fellow at Brigham & Women's Hospital and Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA. Dr. Mehrotra has performed pioneering surgeries such as the first total arterial revascularization at Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi, and using bilateral mammary arteries at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals. He established total arterial revascularization programs at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute and performed the first minimal incision OPCAB total arterial revascularization at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals. Notably, he conducted total arterial CABG on India's youngest patient aged 10 years and performed the first successful arterial switch operation in Mumbai. Additionally, he initiated Pediatric Cardiac Surgery at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals and set up a Pediatric Cardiac Surgery facility at the Asian Heart Institute, in Mumbai. Dr. Mehrotra has been honoured with the "Legends of Cardiac Surgery" award by the Times of India.
