Overview

Dr. Suraj Bhagat is a Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with over 15 years of experience. After completing his MD in Internal Medicine from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, he obtained a Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of the UK. In 2006, he joined the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, for a DM Gastroenterology fellowship. He worked at the renowned Gastroenterology and Hepatology Department of Medanta Hospital, Gurugram, for over 12 years before joining Amrita Hospitals, Faridabad. Dr Bhagat is a therapeutic endoscopist trained in advanced endoscopic procedures, including therapeutic Endoscopic Ultrasound, ERCP, and third-space endoscopy. His special interests include managing overweight/obesity, fatty liver, and metabolic syndrome, from lifestyle interventions to specialized endoscopy; luminal diseases, particularly inflammatory bowel disease; and nutritional rehabilitation. He is involved in teaching and research, with publications in journals and textbooks. His research areas include evaluating the effects of Yoga techniques in healthy individuals and in managing chronic intestinal diseases. Lifestyle modification and de-addiction are key aspects of his clinical practice.
