Overview

Dr. Subhash Gupta is Chairman of Max Centre for Liver and Biliary Sciences in New Delhi where they have one of the largest successful Liver Transplant programs having done over 3000 Liver transplants. This center offers over 200 transplants and a similar number of hepatopancreatic biliary (HPB) surgeries with many being varied and complicated. Dr. Gupta also enforces safety measures in key sectors; Hepatology, Anesthesia, and Critical Care. Max Healthcare is lucky to have him on board since he has over 30 years of practice in Surgical Gastroenterology and HPB Oncology.

Dr. Gupta throughout his highly productive career has been awarded and recognized in many ways. He is a Professor in Liver Transplantation at the Apollo Health Education and Research Foundation and also at the Institute of Postgraduate Education and Medical Research, Kolkata. In 2005, he was awarded the Delhi Medical Association Gold Medal as well as the Rotary Association of India’s Award for Excellence in Clinical Medicine in 2012. On Doctor’s Day 2012, Dr. Gupta was bestowed with the Vishist Chikitsa Rattan (Distinguished Clinician) award of the Delhi Medical Association. His team received a nomination for the “Surgical Team of the Year” award in the BMJ India Awards in the year 2014. Also, the Apollo Health Foundation honored Dr. Gupta with the title of Honorary Professor of Surgery. In 2016, the government of Uttar Pradesh honored him with the Yash Bharti Award and the Medical Council of India honored him with Dr. B.C. Roy Award. He also has an Honorary Professor status in Kazakhstan.
