Dr Amit Javed is an esteemed expert in Gastrointestinal, Gastrointestinal Cancer, and Bariatric/Weight Loss surgery, bringing over 25 years of extensive experience. He completed his MBBS from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, followed by M.S. General Surgery and Senior Residency at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, and M.Ch. Gastrointestinal Surgery from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. Dr. Javed holds ECFMG certiflcation and was conferred the FACS degree by the American College of Surgeons in San Francisco, California, USA. He has served as Faculty at the Department of G.I Surgery at GB Pant Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research, New Delhi, training numerous G.I. Surgeons across the country. His career includes roles as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Abdominal Transplant Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), USA, focusing on liver, pancreas, and kidney transplants, and at the thoracic division of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), New York, USA. Dr. Javed has headed the Departments of GI Surgery, GI Oncosurgery, and Bariatric Surgery at Fortis Hospital Shalimar Bagh, Fortis Hospital Vasant Kunj, and CK Birla Hospital, New Delhi. He is an active researcher with over 50 articles published in international and national journals and textbooks, describing innovative surgical techniques. Dr. Javed is a sought-after faculty member at international and national meetings and performs over 1,000 surgeries annually, specializing in complex gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary diseases, cancers, and bariatric/weight loss surgeries, with a focus on minimally invasive/laparoscopic techniques.
